About a year and a half ago, waaaaaaay back in the “good old days” of high hopes and lofty goals in the cannabis sector, I wrote about the opportunities that abound for Canadian LP’s in Germany. I spoke of the parallels between the pharmaceutical industry of the 19th century the cannabis industry of present day. How Germany’s dominance, the Merck’s and GlaxoSmithKline’s and Pfizer’s, put Germany on the global forefront in modern day pharmaceuticals. And how Canada has emerged as the leader (so far) in sourcing cannabis around the world. Companies such as Aurora Cannabis Inc. (TSX: ACB; NYSE: ACB) are positioned in over 20 countries around the world. Germany being one of them. Probably the most important. Perhaps the gateway to the rest of Europe. But in and of itself, represents the largest population (81 million) in the European Union. To put that in perspective, a population double that of Canada.

Recently there has been news releases a plenty regarding the stalling of licensing applications for domestic cultivation, which originally was set for approval in March, then July, then November (the 20th to be exact), and now, do not plan on finalizing their licensing plan until 2019. This isn’t news to CannaInvestor Magazine readers, who if you took the time to read my article back in July 2017, would have noted that the expected domestic cultivation date to be 2019, and although I am kind of tooting my own horn, it’s a good horn for all, if your invested in Canadian LP’s.
