And before I forget, what has been the feedback from your customers and the public been with respect to your entrance into the cannabis industry?
Constellation Brands. It was obvious to us at Province Brands that things were going this way since we founded the company in September of 2016. That’s why we have such a big head start over the rest of the industry when it comes to making our unique, premium cannabis beers.
Bürkert, a multibillion-dollar German company, with Canadian offices right here in Burlington. More importantly, they have a team of engineers that will work with any company to design a system that works specifically for them. At the start of this project, we were lucky enough to meet David Kelley, President of Burkert in. When we first showed him the plans of our new facility, he showed as much excitement in the project as we had. For readers who have not seen our new space, it is a truly unique footprint. We needed a company who had the capability of custom designing the brewhouse and related equipment to fit this area, provide us with exceptional controls, with maximum efficiency. Their team worked with our brewers to create one of the most state-of-the-art brewhouses in the world today, that allows us to produce incredible craft beer in a completely controlled environment. I can’t wait for your readers to see this place. It is truly one-of-a-kind. As David likes to say, we have a craft brewery, with a heart of pharmaceutical plant, and the controls of NASA spaceship.
The feedback we have received from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. There have been a few people that have been critical of our decision, and some even suggesting they will boycott us, but after I reached out to those individuals directly about our reasons to enter the space, they seem excited for us now.
