The bottom line is, there is plenty of opportunity out there for publicly traded companies in the cannabis space. There is considerable research and product offerings are expanding to recognize the need for alternative delivery methods for the aging population such as seniors, but that does not preclude other younger age brackets or demographics from utilizing these methods. Methods that I would suggest will be far more popular in the not-so-distant-future than good old-fashioned smoking, or even vaping! A reverse cohort effect perhaps? Ultimately, the more research that is done on the therapeutic effects of cannabis for elderly patients, the greater the probability that more and more seniors will at least try. Given that powerful opioids are among the other available options currently, there isn’t much to lose. A lot to gain, for both the elderly medical cannabis user, AND those companies that have recognized this demographic.
