I was quite hesitant mentioning to my dad that I was going to be part of the CannaInvestor Canada launch way back in April 2017. An old straight-laced European dad he is, although he’s lightened up in his golden years. Yet I hesitated. Why you ask? Well as far as my dad knew, I never smoked cannabis in my life! Never really talked to him about it ever, and I’m 44 years old lol. So when I finally did tell him what I’m up to, I was expecting a roll of the eyes, the evil eye, or just stone-faced silence. And boy was I right. For the first year or so, not a peep was ever made about it.
Christmas dinner 2017, our eighth successful issue just recently released, my brothers asked how things are going, and I’d naturally answer “Great! Tons of work but fantastic!” Look over at my dad, and stone-faced. Easter 2018, our one-year anniversary, and more chit chat between my brothers and I, my dad, locked on to the Blue Jays game, game number nine of 162. Game number nine!!! This past Christmas, cannabis stocks tanking for a good part of three months since legalization, it was the talk. Made for a lean Christmas that’s for sure. In the midst of stuffing our faces and trying to reassure my brothers that “things will bounce back” for like the hundredth time, my dad chimes in … “how’s the magazine going now?”. Ahhhhhhh what dad? I couldn’t believe my ears.
