Ryan is an associate with Minden Gross LLP and is a member of both the Tax Law
and Cannabis Law Groups. His practice focuses on corporate tax planning, as well
as tax aspects of corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, corporate
reorganizations, and cross-border transactions. Ryan’s practice also encompasses
estate planning and succession planning. Ryan has acted for clients in a variety
of industry sectors, including the cannabis industry.

Jason partners with his clients to design and implement their personal
financial roadmap, recognizing that each client situation is unique and
requires customized attention. Prior to joining Argosy Securities Inc as an
Investment Advisor, Jason spent over 17 years licensed with the Mutual
Fund Dealers Association (MFDA) through two Canadian Chartered Banks.
Jason holds both the Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP) and
the Professional Financial Planner Designation (PFP). He also holds the
Elder Planning Counselor (EPC) designation and the Certified
Professional Consultant on Aging (CPCA) designation. This gives him

Matt Maurer, LLB
Matt is the Vice-Chair of the Cannabis Law Group at Torkin
Manes LLP. He is also an accomplished trial and appellate lawyer
in the Litigation Group with over a decade of experience. He
provides business and regulatory advice to a range of cannabis
industry stakeholders, including licensed producers, producer
applicants, owners of businesses that provide ancillary services
to the industry, entrepreneurs, and foreign businesses who
want to enter the Canadian market or enter into partnerships
with established Canadian cannabis businesses. Matt’s

estate industry, in addition to litigating business and

Ryan is a passionate investor and trader. Whilst not
currently a full time trader he does aspire to become one

Joseph brings more than a decade of experience in the
cannabis space as a licensed cultivator and educator. He
specializes in implementing and evaluating learning
solutions across various delivery channels (Instructor-
Led, e-Learning, and Self-Directed). He has extensive
knowledge of regulations, licences and authorizations
in the cannabis industry as well as experiences with
needs assessments, instructional design and
curriculum development, learning technologies and
tools of assessment.
