During spring and early summer, newly awakened grizzly and black bears feed
on sedges, pink salmonberry blossoms, in the shadow of spectacular and snow-
covered coastal mountains. If you are exploring in autumn you’ll witness the
annual return of the salmon to spawn, which in turn draws grizzlies, spirit and
black bears to the river estuaries.
