Urban Farm Tours
Situated a quick drive from Edmonton’s downtown core, the Urban Farm is dedicated
to producing local and sustainable food while offering a unique opportunity for
visitors to experience a commercial farm in the city. The farm grows a variety of
vegetable crops and is home to an urban beekeeping operation and urban hens. The
commercial urban farming operation primarily grows different varieties of salad
mix. The produce is then sold at local farmers' markets, to local restaurants and used
in the Northlands kitchen. The Northlands Urban Farm creates an opportunity for
groups to engage in agricultural learning in a unique and innovative way. Learning
tours are conducted on the 31,200-square-foot farm and include an opportunity to
interact with the urban farmer, beekeeper and (weather-depending) the bees.
