Eastern Canada- Québec Region

Québec Region

Vast open spaces, wildlife & adventure aplenty
Urban excitement aside, Québec is also home to the lovely Laurentian Mountains, a huge wide open area just north of Montréal, where rolling hills, beautiful lakes and picturesque villages dot the landscape. The region is a must for those who love the outdoors with its national and regional parks, vast protected areas and wide-open spaces. Here also is Mont Tremblant, renowned as a top ski resort but offering many yearround activities plus major international sporting and cultural events.
Nearby Tadoussac is your go to place for spectacular scenery, fabulous whale watching, hiking trails, watersports and eco-tourism activities. Visit the Saguenay-St Lawrence Marine Park, at the mouth of the Fjord du Saguenay, which attracts belugas and other sea mammals that come to feed from June to October. You can spot them from the shore or take a boat cruise for a closer look.
Along the St Lawrence, lies the Charlevoix region which boasts exceptional natural beauty and is just the spot to relax and re-energise. Places to visit include picturesque Baie-Saint-Paul, ranking among Canada’ s cultural capitals, known for its numerous art galleries, picturepostcard streets and local food scene. This is also the place where it all began for Cirque du Soleil! The natural amphitheatre of La Malbaie is ideally located for exploring the countryside and the spectacular Saguenay Fjord. Ride along the 3.7 mile long cycle path or take a walk along the waterfront at Pointe au Pic to the Rue du Quai, an area of colourful renovated historic wooden houses.
Saint-Alexis-des-Monts in the stunning Maurice region is home to the idyllic hideaway of Sacacomie. Breathtaking scenery, the majestic lake, the abundance of outdoor activities and the gastronomy are just some of the treasures that await you.
Picturesque Montebello, which sits along the tranquil Ottawa River, serves up numerous outdoor activities, delicious local food and microbreweries.
