DAY 1 Fly to Toronto On arrival make your way to your hotel.
DAY 2 Toronto
At leisure to explore. For bird’ s eye city views head to the CN Tower, take a stroll around the historic St Lawrence Market or maybe visit the highly regarded Royal Ontario Museum. See also the vibrant Distillery District with its unique shops and restaurants, or the Entertainment District, Toronto’ s answer to Broadway.
DAY 3 Toronto / The Canadian Train
Free time before making your way to the station to board The Canadian, a trans-continental train that links Canada’ s east and west. On this journey look forward to leaving the buzz of the city for the sway of the train as you glide past forests, lakes and prairies. And then, just when you think things can’ t get any better, you’ ll glimpse the Rockies which are sure to be as amazing as you image- and then some! So, settle back in your cabin and relax as the train sets off.
DAYS 4-5 The Canadian Train
Admire the ever-changing scenery as you leave Ontario and travel through golden prairie fields, rugged lake country, waterfalls and scenic towns and cities. In addition to your cabin, there are lounges, glass-ceiling cars and a dining car for meals showcasing Canadian and regional cuisine, plus views that keep on giving.
DAY 6 The Canadian Train / Jasper
The Canadian reaches the laidback town of Jasper where you disembark and make your way to your hotel.
DAY 7 Jasper
At leisure to explore Jasper or the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Jasper National Park. If you love the great outdoors, then fill your boots with activities galore, take a ride on the Jasper Skytram for jawdropping views at the summit, or head out to the nearby Columbia Icefield where you can hop aboard an Ice Explorer onto the mighty Athabasca Glacier. Other nearby attractions include Miette Hot Springs, stunning Maligne Lake and the steep, narrow gorge of Maligne Canyon.
DAY 8 Jasper / Banff
Travel by shuttle bus via the Icefields Parkway to nearby Banff where you are free to absorb the charming ambience and incredible natural scenery.
DAYS 9-10 Banff
A further chance to don your hiking boots or perhaps hire a bike and make the most of the splendid natural surroundings. Marvel at impossibly blue glacial lakes, admire the soaring mountains or perhaps head to the geothermally heated Banff Hot Springs for some relaxation and rejuvenation. Those with a head for heights will want to ride the Banff Gondola which takes you to the summit of Sulphur Mountain, where the views of six mountain ranges and the sweep of Bow Valley are laid out before you.
DAY 11 Banff / Calgary
A shuttle transfer is included to Calgary airport where the tour concludes with your onward journey.
