Clarification The last issue of Campus Review was incorrectly numbered as“ Issue 5”, when in fact it was“ Issue 4”.
It was also reported in‘ The power of giving’ in the last issue that professor Sue Cunningham of Melbourne University is paraphrased as saying“ philanthropy will eventually have to replace federal government funding, but it’ s also a necessity, because of the nation’ s growing need for greater research facilities”.
This was incorrect. In fact, professor Cunningham said,“ Government funding has changed fundamentally over past decades, and this has compelled universities to look at alternative sources of funding in order to compete with leading institutions worldwide”. news
