IMPORTANT: Cross off Health / Personal Fitness as 1st elective and write AJROTC
Description: Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps( AJROTC) is a two- to four-year program offered to 9th – 12th grade students. These elective courses educate and train high school cadets in citizenship, promote community service, instill responsibility, build character and self-discipline, while providing instruction in air and space fundamentals. Students will learn life skills including how weather affects our lives, learn how to select a career, how to receive training in the selected career field, how to get into and finance a college education, and how to manage their finances. Students will improve leadership and management skills through the study and practice of the concepts of responsibility and teamwork, learn the concepts of orderliness and precision through drill and ceremonies, and understand the role of the public service in American society.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO MILITARY OBLIGATION ASSOCIATED WITH TAKING HIGH SCHOOL ARMY JUNIOR ROTC AND NO UNIFORM REQUIREMENT FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS.
Note: 3 units of AJROTC will waive the Health and Personal Fitness graduation requirements.
Course Name: Audio-Video Technology and Film I( AVTF I) Course Number: 1 0. 5 1 8 1 0 9 9
Description: This course will serve as the foundational course in the Audio & Video Technology & Film pathways. The course prepares students for employment or entry into a postsecondary education program in the audio and video technology career field. Topics covered may include, but are not limited to: terminology, safety, basic equipment, script writing, production teams, production and programming, lighting, recording and editing, studio production, and professional ethics.
Course Name: Basic Agricultural Science Course Number: 0 2. 4 7 1 0 0 9 9
Description: This course is designed as the foundational course for all Agricultural Pathways. The course introduces the major areas of scientific agricultural production and research; presents problem solving lessons and introductory skills and knowledge in agricultural science and agri-related technologies. Classroom and laboratory activities are supplemented through supervised agricultural experiences and leadership programs and activities.
