Mathematics
Science
4 credits: Must include Literature / Composition I and Literature / Composition II( EOC course)
4 credits: Can include Algebra( EOC course), Geometry, Advanced Algebra, and an additional fourth math credit
4 credits: Must include Biology( EOC course), Physics or Physical Science, Environmental Science or Chemistry or Earth Systems, and an additional fourth science credit **
Social Science
3 credits: Must include World History, United States History( EOC course), American Government / Civics( 0.5 credit), and Economics / Personal Finance Literacy( 0.5 credit)
ELECTIVES- 8 REQUIRED CREDITS
Health and Personal Fitness
Specific Requirements
1 credit: Health( 0.5 credit) and Personal Fitness( 0.5 credit) 3 credits of JROTC waives this requirement
3 credits: Any credit from either CTAE, Fine Arts, or World Language Students planning to attend ANY post-secondary institution are strongly encouraged to earn at least 2 credits of the same World Language( MS-HS credit can apply towards this)
NOTE: Students planning to enter or transfer into a University System of Georgia institution MUST take two units of the same World Language
General
4 credits: Any credit from any coursework area such as Psychology, Forensics, Journalism, AP Human Geography, Team Sports, etc.
* Unit credit may be awarded for courses offered in the middle grades that meet 9-12 GPS or GSE requirements.
* Completion of diploma requirements does not necessarily qualify students for the HOPE or Zell Miller Scholarship Programs( see page 9).
