Flyers
Printed flyers are a great way to spread information about you , your qualifications , and your platform .
Due to the limited space on a small piece of paper , you should be concise on your flyer . List your qualifications , get to the key points of your platform , and cram that slogan in there for good measure .
As for size , a flyer can be a full page , though smaller flyers that you can print several of on one paper can help cut down on your campaign budget .
Note : You don ’ t need that many flyers . Often , people will take a few for their whole State , so you ’ re probably going to end up giving out maybe half of those 250 flyers you made ( speaking from experience ). Conserve your campaign budget by only printing as many flyers as necessary .
How can I make ‘ em ?
There ’ s a lot of software out there that you can use to make flyers . Here are a couple that I recommend :
Δ Canva is the go-to for making this sort of stuff . It has a large variety of flyer templates you can start with , and even its free version has very robust tools for making great looking designs .
Δ Google Slides , while primarily meant for digital presentations , is also a great tool for making flyers and what I used for my campaign . If you ’ re familiar with Google ’ s suite of tools , you might find this easier to use than Canva .
δ To make a Google Slides presentation match the size of your paper ( typically 8.5 " × 11 ", go to File > Page Setup and select the Custom option .
