ING RULES

-

ON-STAGE APPEARANCES

Prior to the end of the election , candidates may NOT appear on stage during a general assembly EXCEPT for election-related purposes ( e . g ., speeches ). For example , if you are running for office , you should not be an opening speaker for a GA , nor should you participate in roll call .
There are two exceptions to this rule : Δ If you are getting an award , you can go on stage to receive it . Δ If you are the only delegate from your State , you can participate in roll call .

ATTIRE

When you are on stage , formal attire is required . Examples include ties , blazers , suit jackets , dresses , collared dress shirts , dress blouses , dress pants , dress skirts , dress shoes , and similar clothing with the word “ dress ” in it .
In other election events ( e . g ., Meet the Candidates ), you should still dress for success ! Leaning on the formal side can make you easier to identify as a candidate — and you just look a lot snazzier with it .
