To put it quite simply, the JCL is my happy place: the place where I can go and forget about my worries for a week and immerse myself in the JCLove. There is no community quite like the JCL with its eccentric personalities and incredible people. While the JCL means something different for all of us, one thing is for certain: it is a truly special place. If you want to make a lasting impression on this great community, I implore you to run to be on the 2022-2023 NJCL Executive Board.
Running for office is a tremendous commitment and probably one of the biggest decisions you’ll encounter in your high school career. Even though a campaign takes an incredible amount of dedication and energy, you will be amazed at the support and kindness of your delegation, and you will meet some pretty great JCLers along the way. Whether or not you are elected, you will end up having an amazing experience. People will call out your name, having seen you run around campus wearing your campaign materials while laughing at your slogans. They’ll read about what you have to say in the Convention Ear and listen intently to hear why you want to be on the next NJCL board.
Have you attended at least ONE NJCL convention (Virtual or not)? Do you find yourself overjoyed with everything that JCL has to offer? I urge you to file for office today!
This Campaign Corner is intended to guide you through the campaign process. Inside you will find a step-by-step guide for filing and running your campaign. “Campaigning 101” will show you examples of past campaigns to spark your creativity. This also includes advice from our current NJCL board to provide guidance. The NJCL board and I are always an email away to answer any questions you may have.
