S IL L B U IL DI N G K WEINSTEIN JCC an NE S FU N S AQUATICS Swimming is a lifelong skill that can open the door to many adventures. While typically introduced at a young age, no one is ever too old or too fearful to learn how to swim. At the Weinstein JCC and Camp Hilbert pools, safety always comes first for campers and swimmers, along with a friendly, fun and nurturing environment. d FIT Camp Hilbert Instructional & Free Swim Every camper will be a part of a group swim lesson for 45 minutes during the first half of the camp day. The instructional swim program at Camp Hilbert is modeled after the Levels classes taught at the Weinstein JCC year-round. There are six different levels, ranging from beginner to fitness swimmer. Each camper will be evaluated and placed in their appropriate level based on their swimming ability and age. Each class is taught by a Lead Swim Instructor and assisted by camp counselors. All pool activities are supervised by American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Camp Hilbert Aquatics Coordinator Mallory Moore. The Camp Hilbert pool is open to Weinstein JCC members from Memorial Day through Labor Day on Saturdays & Sundays from 11-6. Camp Ganim Instructional Swim Campers whom are at least 3-years-old and potty trained will have a 30minute instructional swim each day. The instructional swim program at Camp Ganim is modeled after the childcare swim lessons and classes taught at the Weinstein JCC year-round. Clams (Ducks) is our beginner level; Minnows (Preschool Advanced) are children who are comfortable in the water, and those becoming independent swimmers are Sea Turtles (Pre-levels). The swim time will be led by one of our seasoned Water Safety Certified swim teachers and assisted by a trained swim instructor. The children will be evaluated throughout the summer and placed into groups with their peers of the same swim skill level. All pool activities are supervised by Assistant Aquatics Director & Ganim Swim Coordinator Myles Phelps Whenever there are swimmers at the pool there are American Red Cross trained lifeguards present.
