Does the Glenview Park District prorate camp fees?
Camp fees will be prorated in whole weeks only and only after the camp session has begun, subject to the camp supervisor’ s approval and discretion. This option is limited to camps with available space. For example, if a camper starts on a day other than Monday, they must pay for the entire week they begin. Prorated registrations will only be accepted within one week of the camper’ s start date. Please keep in mind that prorated fees are not available for reasons such as vacation, travel, family commitments, or other conflicts. The only exceptions are for medical considerations, not including general illnesses, such as injuries supported by a doctor’ s note. These requests are subject to the supervisor’ s discretion.
Can I register for camp but only pay for the days my child can attend?
No. Campers must register and pay for each camp as it is offered. All camp fees are set for the entire session and cannot be adjusted based on individual attendance or excluded activities such as field trips or swimming days. Each camper must pay the full camp fee to ensure access to all scheduled activities.
Am I a resident?
New residents or changes in residency within the park district boundaries are required to provide proof( gas, electric or water bill, current tax bill, purchase agreement or lease). A Driver’ s License is not acceptable proof of residency.
How do I know if I’ m in a program?
If you are registering online, you will be able to print your own receipt. If you are placed on a waitlist, the initial receipt will show that you are on the waitlist and you will receive an updated receipt once you have been placed in the class. In the event your program is cancelled, you will be notified and your program fee refunded.
Waitlist Policies
1. If the camp you have selected is full, your payment will be processed, and you will be placed on the waitlist for that section.
2. Participants may only be added to a waitlist section if they have not been accepted into another section of that same camp. Once the participant has been accommodated into a section of the program, they may not maintain a waitlist spot for any other section of that same program.
3. To be added to a waitlist, you must complete a program registration form or online registration and pay the program fee for that camp. You may not be added to a waitlist by phone call or handwritten note. Your position on the waitlist is based on when your registration with payment is processed by the district.
4. If there are no openings after the first two weeks of the program, your payment will be refunded in full.
5. If you register for a waitlist for camps that occur at the same day and time as another camp and your child is offered a spot, you will be subject to the cancellation fee for the spot that becomes available should you choose not to enroll in the program. We kindly ask that you refrain from registering for duplicate camps at the same day and time, as cancellation fees will apply.
Friendship Requests
The park district is unable to accommodate friendship requests for any camps. Generally, campers are grouped by age and, when appropriate, by school.
Refunds
From January 9 to May 4, there is a 10 % cancellation charge calculated on the total fee of the section per child, with a maximum charge of $ 75 per camp section per child. For“ REGISTER BY THE WEEK” day camps( Playtime Pals, Sun Troopers, Fun Quest), a non-refundable $ 25 deposit per section will be charged and retained for each section if canceled during this period.
Beginning May 5, the cancellation charge increases to 20 % of the total camp section fee per child, with a maximum charge of $ 200 per section per child. Please note that prorated refunds are not available, and all refund requests must be submitted at least 7 days before the start of the section for which the refund is requested. For example, if you are requesting a refund for the first session of camp beginning Monday, June 9, the request must be received by midnight on Monday, June 2.
If you request a refund for a camp that is currently in session or has ended, you will be responsible for the full payment of the camp session, and no refund will be issued. If a refund is requested for future sections that fall outside the seven-day request window, a refund will be provided for those sessions, subject to a 20 % cancellation fee calculated on the total fee of the section, not the deposit paid.
To request a refund, please email registration @ glenviewparks. org or contact the specific camp supervisor.
