COUNSELOR IN TRAINING( CIT)( 13-15 YRS.)
Spend your summer gaining valuable work experience, developing new skills, exploring future career possibilities, working as a team and having fun! Each CIT will help implement activities and projects under the supervision of the Camp Directors and Counselor in Training Coordinator. CITs will accompany their camp during outings and field trips. CIT candidates must successfully complete the mandatory four-week training course including CPR certification at Park Center and be able to commit to the camp session they are placed in. CIT candidates will be asked to submit( 1) a letter of recommendation from a non-family member; and( 2) a paragraph that answers the question " What do you hope to gain from the Counselor in Training program " in 300 words or less, that will be requested at the beginning of April. CITs will also attend one in-service halfway through the summer at Park Center. More details will be sent out after camp begins. More information will be sent out as we get closer to camp.
TO REGISTER: Submit a completed Camp Registration Form, registering for the CIT Training Course AND CIT Full Day. In order to take part in the program, registration for both CIT Training Course and CIT Full Day as well as completion of the essay and receiving a letter of recommendation must be completed. Failure to complete all parts will result in being removed from the program.

He had a great summer with lots of good memories. He is eager to become a counselor at GPD when he can, which I ' m sure is a goal of the CIT program.
