COUNSELOR IN TRAINING ( CIT ) ( 13-15 YRS .)
Spend your summer acquiring valuable work experience , cultivating new skills , exploring potential future career paths , collaborating as part of a team , and enjoying yourself ! Each Counselor in Training ( CIT ) will assist in implementing various activities and projects , while working under the guidance of the Camp Directors . CITs will also accompany their assigned camp during outings and field trips . CIT candidates are required to successfully complete a four-week training course , which includes CPR certification at Park Center . Additionally , candidates must be able to commit to the specific camp session they are placed in .
The CIT Supervisor will begin sending emails in March to obtain ( 1 ) a letter of recommendation from a non-family member ; and ( 2 ) a brief paragraph responding to the prompt : “ What do you hope to gain from the Counselor in Training program ?”. The paragraph should be no longer than 300 words . Placement , in this case , is strictly for full day camps . To participate as a CIT in a full day camp , a separate fee of $ 1800 will apply . Please register for both sections .
