Swim Lessons and Open Swim
Some of our camps will visit an outdoor pool for a swim lesson and open swim ! Each visit to the pool will start with a 45-minute swim lesson lead by swim instructors certified through Starfish Aquatics Institute . Campers will be divided into groups based on their swim skills . Campers will receive a 45-minute swim lesson that is tailored to their swimming capabilities . Each swimmer ranging from beginners to those on swim team will work towards progressing and improving their skills while having fun ! Following the swim lesson , campers receive open swim time . Campers who do not meet proficiency standards will be issued a Coast Guard approved life vest and will swim in the shallow end of the pool . Campers may be retested once per week . Glenview Park District camp staff supervise all their campers while at the pool and are outfitted in special swim shirts so they are easily recognizable to campers , pool staff and other pool patrons .
