J
esus described the kingdom of God
as a great banquet. Jesus does not
describe the kingdom of God as dull and
boring, glum and gloomy, dreary and
dismal. We have bleak, monotonous,
tedious, torpid times in life. When you
think of the life God wants for you, for
all His children, think of the wonder and
joy, the laughter, and the good fun at a
great banquet.
J
esus describes the kingdom of God
as a wedding feast. Life sometimes
brings dark, tragic times. We walk in the
valley of the shadow. When we live in
the kingdom, we live in the hope and
new life, the happiness and merriment,
the good fun, and the good times of a
wedding feast.
G
od invites all of us to live in that
kingdom, in this life, to experience
the wonder and joy of God’s love for
us, to share in the compassion and
community of the kingdom, to live in
confidence and assurance, and to live
in the hope of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
