Building Update
by Dick Crofts
Yes, there is, literally and figuratively, light at the end of the
tunnel. As I write this article, we have received the final permit
we need before TECO can turn on electricity to our new
Mission Center.
Once we have electricity, we can move forward significantly
toward completion of the interior of the building. Our various
systems can be tested. We can run our air conditioning
system which will permit us to install items that require a
climate controlled environment: wall panels, carpet, tile,
doors, countertops, etc. The builder is involved in the tricky
installation of decorative steel that will be in the ceiling of the
café area.
You may have noticed that curbs and sidewalks have been
poured. Workers will shortly relocate two light poles that are
located in the area where the County has required us to build
a turn lane.
Sod has been placed on the banks of retention ponds. As
soon as a decision is made about the location of a well,
irrigation can be laid and landscaping will be put in place.
The gravel base material for the parking area is expected
about the first of July.
