Callys Short Story

Let me first start off saying that high school is so incredibly different than I was expecting. It has been an amazing/ painful three years. I have gained, and lost many friends. Some things have been good and others not so much. I would have to say that many of the experience I will remember for the good.

My freshman year I wasn’t as nervous I thought I was going to be. I started out playing volleyball for the first year ever and was really happy with my performance. I thought I had done better in that than I thought I was going to. I made a lot of friends that were upperclassmen and it was tough watching them graduate. In the winter of freshman year I joined the basketball team and really enjoyed it. And that spring I went out for track and also enjoyed that very much.

Sophomore year was awful. I think I was taking the most difficult classes a sophomore could take. It was no fun. I had geometry, which absolutely sucked. It was the worst math class that I have taken so far. Ms. Gade was the teacher and I don’t think she was too fond of me. But that is my personal opinion. I also had history with all the juniors because something wouldn’t fit in my schedule otherwise. Mr. Calkins taught that. Wow was that an exciting class to be in! He was always in a happy mood for the most part and he always made sure that you were paying attention.

On to junior year now. Wow has this year been a journey! A lot of different things have happened this year. This year was the first year of North Fayette Valley. I was not excited coming into the school year this past summer. In the eighth grade we had to share the basketball locker room with the Valley team and our team got into a fight with the Valley basketball girls. The rivalry had carried on until the beginning of this year. I am currently really good friends with all the girls that I use to hate a year ago. I am glad that I had an open mind to all of it because I think that this school year would be difficult if I wasn’t able to make new friends.
