any of us thought that it was just a
dream and that San Francisco would
figure out a way to keep the 49ers in
the city. We were soon proved wrong. A
deal was signed and Santa Clara would
become the new home of the San Francisco 49ers.
After construction began, the Santa
Clara Police Department realized that it
would be one of the smallest law enforcement agencies in the country to host an
NFL stadium. The police department is
made up of just 142 sworn police officers.
Those officers serve a city of 18 square
miles with a population of 116,000. That
