Dear Members of California Country Club ,
I would like to thank you all once again for the incredible loyalty and support you ’ ve shown this club . We have made it through an extremely difficult time , and we ’ re thankful that all our staff and members remain healthy and safe .
Although in many ways , CCC has been a model of inclusivity and diversity , I ’ d like to see us maintain , and even improve upon , this spirit as we move forward as a club . It has been great to see members of a variety of ethnicities and cultural backgrounds come together and share our golf course and clubhouse . During a time like this , where there seems to be division and injustice seen in the news daily , it ’ s wonderful to see our members exhibiting a warm and welcoming attitude toward others who may appear different from themselves . This club is starting to become a true cross section of our local community , and I see this as one of the greatest strengths of Southern California . In contrast to people of many other parts of the world , Southern Californians not only know how to get along , but most of us have developed a deep appreciation of the variety of cultural groups that abound here .
With this in mind , I ’ d like to encourage you all to find a way to step outside of your typical groups and play a round of golf with someone new , or even sit down and share some drinks at the Agave Grille . The truth is , there are a multitude of fascinating members at our club who all have unique and intriguing stories to share . Especially with the influx of many new members this year , CCC has become an ideal venue in which to network and develop connections in golf , business , and in life . My hope is that our members will begin to dig deeper and really connect with one another in more meaningful ways . If each one of you would reach out of your individual comfort zones and initiate a conversation with even one new member outside of your regular groups , you may be amazed by greater joy and fulfillment you find as a member here . I ’ m looking forward to seeing more members of every different racial , ethnic , and cultural background enjoying our club together , and I ’ m excited to see what the future holds for CCC .
