SHAWN HOOK
Born and raised in Vancouver, Shawn Hook displayed his innate talent for music early, beginning at the Royal Conservatory in piano at age four. He would go to bass, guitar, and jazz trombone before expanding further still with studies in vocals and audio engineering. After his schooling, Shawn expanded his songwriting career as a signed composer for ABC studios. His original songs were featured on shows such as “Eli Stone”, “Kyle KY” and “Greek”.
Shawn’s musical journey has proven that he is an emotive and soulful singer. His music showcases his heartfelt sensibility for writing songs that reveal poignant complexities of heartbreak and relationships. His live performances are equally as impressive, showcasing his remarkable depth and vocal range.
In 2012, Shawn released his official debut album, Cosmonaut and the Girl which featured the songs, “So Close” and “Every Red Light”. His sophomore album, Analog Love was released on June 2015 via Universal Music Canada. On the heels of the release, Shawn celebrated “Sound Of Your Heart” a standout track on the record, being certified Platinum in Canada. Momentum for “Sound Of Your Heart” has not slowed down. The track has now accumulated over 17 million streams on Spotify worldwide. It is now Top 40 in the US and has been added at over 100+ US CHR radio stations. The tracked peaked at Canadian radio Top 10 CHR, Top 10 Hot AC, Top 15 AC, and hit Top 10 on the iTunes Canada overall chart. The video has been growing with over 3.1 million views
