Vasco Vascotto, strategist for the "Peninsula Petroleum"
“The championship is still very open”
Vasco Vascotto, the strategist for the “Peninsula Petroleum”, affirmed yesterday after finishing the race, that “today we have done much better. The wind has been very difficult, but we understand that we have to be patient until the end.”
Vascotto appeared very satisfied with the team’s performance and commented that “we made a dent in the standings and there are still more races. The championship is still very open. We have completed three races and still have much more, as we’ve only done a third of the competition.”
He lamented that they hadn’t completed more races yesterday. “We were in the sea to do three regattas and only did one, and for this reason we are somewhat down because we had been on the water for many hours without sailing,
but the result of the one race we did finish was pretty good.”
In regards to the race, the strategist of the “Peninsula Petroleum” commented that “we lost two places in the last leg and for this reason we are somewhat angry, but we don’t need to be too upset because there were worse boats than ours today.” He valued the effort of the entire group in a complicated round and said that “the team is doing a great job, the speed was good, and because of this we are very relaxed about today’s round.”
“We don’t have any problem with today’s round. The boat was in perfect condition and we could do well in the two days that remain.”
