letter from the editor
Welcome to our second issue of
Cake! magazine for 2016. We
loved creating this issue and
bringing together this amazing
collection of decorators from
around the world.
This issue, 'Cakes of the
World' celebrates the universal
language (and love) of cakes.
We
feature
images
from
the recent 'Acts of Green'
collaboration on page 68 which
is a stunning collaboration of
cake artists from around the
world which aimed to bring
awareness to issues facing our
planet such as global warming,
saving endangered species
and the degradation of our
forests.
and
Australian
decorator,
Jacinta Perkins. Jacinta shares
with our readers the story of her
wedding cake (page 82), which
she created using components
made from her cake friends
from all over the world.
We have so many exciting
events coming up in the coming
months: Melbourne Cake Crawl
in July (page 6), Sydney Cake
Crawl in September (page
8) and Sachiko Windbiel of
Mimicafe Union's ACDN tour
(page 48). I hope to see you at
one of our events!
I hope you enjoy this issue of
Cake! as much as we enjoyed
creating it.
