TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU BECAME A CAKE
DECORATOR & HOW YOUR BUSINESS HAS EVOLVED?
My cake decorating journey started in 2013. As a graphic
designer, I wasn’t feeling creatively fulfilled in my job, so
I naturally started searching for other creative outlets.
Coincidently, the first season of ‘The Great Australian
Bake Off’ launched to air on tv’s across the country. Their
first episode? Cupcakes. I was immediately hooked and
so began my amazing journey into the cake world.
After a couple of years of cake decorating as a hobby,
I officially opened my business ‘Commie’s Cupcakes’
in 2015. I was known for creating intricate, edible art
on cupcakes. Soon after I opened, I started to receive
requests for cake classes. So in 2016 I created and
taught my first in-person Beginners Cupcake Class, and
that’s where I discovered my love for teaching.
