WHAT ARE SOME FRESH COLOUR SCHEMES I CAN USE FOR CHRISTMAS? I’M A BIT OVER THE USUAL GREEN AND RED. - BROOKE It’s easy to get tired of the same old colours each Christmas (bold red and green can be a little overkill this time of year), but there are ways you can manipulate your colours to keep things fresh and still have that Christmas vibe. If you still want to incorporate those traditional colours - but keep it more modern - I recommend experimenting with different tones, tints and shades. Or alternatively select a different type of green (for instance) altogether that isn’t typically associated with Christmas. For example, instead of Christmas green, you could use lime green or olive green. After selecting your “traditional” colours, simply add in a fresh, non-christmas colour that compliments your chosen hues to add that modern touch. Here’s an example of a cupcake piece I made for Christmas one year. I’ve used the colours mint green, deep red, light blue, pink and yellow. It’s modern and fun but also still has that Christmas vibe. MORE INFORMATION facebook.com/commiescupcakes commiescupcakes.com
