Penny Bunz
of Cleopatra Cakes
My name is Penny Bunz and my business is Cleopatra Cakes. My passion is
creating cakes that are artistic, detailed, a little quirky and delicious. I love
colour, art and music,exotic cultures, offbeat humour and subject matter, which
usually influences my creations.
I hail from the Great white north, Canada that is. I met my husband Stuart, who
is from Melbourne, 20 years ago at a backpackers hostel in England. After
years abroad we have settled in Melbourne, Cheltenham to be exact. We have
2 kids, Lola and Ace. I'm kept busy dividing my time at my day job as a
lampshade maker for a contemporary lighting company, which has been my
career for the last 10 years, kid and pet wrangling, and of course nights and
weekends as a crazy cake lady.
I've been cake decorating now for nearly a decade. I spent years in hospitality,
as a cook and have a background in fine arts. Art and craft and cooking have
been a constant obsession in my life and I love that I have found a medium that
combines the two.Thank you so much to the Australian Cake Decorating
