Tips to create a Stress-free Christmas Dessert table from Allison of Wild Rose Sweets & Styling One sure way to wow your guests on Christmas Day is to set up a dessert table full of sweet temptations. Although it may seem like a huge undertaking it need not be a cause for stress! We have some pointers that will help you create your table with ease and will allow you to relax alongside your family and guests. Choose your colours… The easiest and usually most fun way to start your dessert table planning is to choose a colour palette. Have a look at your current Christmas decorations, the colours in the environment where the table is going to be placed and the colours that you are naturally drawn to and start your search from there. Your palette choice can also help dictate your style of table. For example, a sophisticated palette of gold, white and ivory would lend itself to a formal look while a fun modern palette of pink, teal and silver might lend itself to a more relaxed table. Just remember to make sure that you choose a palette that you love and that you remain consistent across the table. Create Symmetry… A quick scroll through Pinterest will illustrate that dessert table design can be either symmetrical or asymmetrical. If you are new to styling then work on a symmetrical design as it is easier to find balance with this method. Choose a focal point for the centre of the table and then create balance with matching tableware on either side. The focal point could be a beautiful cake, a tempting cheesecake, some beautiful fresh flowers or a plate of fresh fruit. Whatever you choose just remember to keep it centred and as the highest point of the table.
