Step 11:
Repeat this process to
make 6 pieces. To ensure
they are all the same
length, use the first piece
as a guide for cutting the
base of the remaining
pieces. Once all 6 are
complete, use your fingers
to add a slight curve to the
paste covered wire, and
insert into Styrofoam to dry.
Step 13:
Moisten the end tip of wire
with a tiny bit of tylose glue.
Add a small ball (2-3mm) of
green paste to the tip. Using
the sharp end of the Dresden
tool, create three lines to
divide the ball into three
sections as shown. To do this
without squashing the ball,
start halfway down the ball
to create the ridge and work
your way towards the centre
to create a clean line without
distorting the paste.
DUSTING & ASSEMBLY
Step 12:
For the centre piece, roll a larger sausage of flower paste. Moisten a piece of 26
gauge wire with a tiny bit of tylose glue, ensuring the excess is wiped off. Insert
the wire into your sausage of flower paste up to the tip. It does not matter if the
wire is poking through a tiny bit.
Using a rolling action, roll the paste onto the wire, thinning it out so it is a little bit
thicker than the previous centre pieces and travels 2/3 down the stem of the wire
and off the end of the wire. Instead of cutting off the paste past the end of the
wire, you need to cut the paste just before the end of the wire as shown
Step 14:
Curve the centre piece slightly. The image below will demonstrate the
curves on each of the centre pieces and the lengths. Stand the centre
piece in Styrofoam to dry.
Step 15:
Using Barco Lime petal dust,
dust from the base of the petal to
the outside, going about 2/3 way
up towards the tip of the petal.
Repeat for each petal.
Step 18:
Once you have finished
dusting, the centre pieces
should look like this:
Step 16:
Using Barco Lime petal dust, dust
the base of each of the 6 smaller
centre pieces, sweeping the brush
upwards. Repeat for all 6 smaller
centre pieces.
Step 17:
Using Barco Lime petal dust, apply
dust to the top of the large centre
piece, brushing downwards towards
the base. Make sure you brush
through the grooves on the top as
this will accentuate the grooves.
Step 19:
Cut a length of white florist tape, and stretch to activate the glue. Attach one
end of tape to the longer centre piece, then arrange the 6 smaller centre
pieces around with the curve facing outwards, winding the tape around
securely. If you have trouble taping them all at once, you can attach one of
the smaller pieces, wind the tape around, then add the second, wind around
again, and so on until all six smaller centre pieces have been attached to the
larger centre piece. Tape down the wire to the bottom to secure the pieces.
