Fill in any outlines to ensure you can see the entire image . Again , start with the focal points of the image , filling these in with colour . Don ’ t overload your brush . Gradually build colours up , start lightly and build intensity . Some colours may require multiple coats but be sure to let the first dry as much as possible before applying the next or you may paint off the first and damage your design .
Step 6 :
Final Touches Once you have your base colours done , add texture and interest to areas with small dots and stripes of the same or even contrasting colours overlapping . Refer back to your original design for inspiration ! Add paint drips by painting a small line where you want the drip to go , then feed this line from the top with more paint , slowly dripping it down . Add splatters by dripping the tip of a toothbrush into the colour and then using your thumb or finger to pull back the bristles .
