Step 9:
Paint some bobbing heads in the water with the fleshtone on the left side. Paint white dots on the black square to represent the towels and bathing costumes of swimmers. Add light blue spots on the blue below for the water activities.
Step 10:
Paint splotches and dots of yellow for the fish. Thin down icing to create the drips for the melting sun.
Step 11:
Before the fleshtone area dries, take a dull tool like a butter knife and score the icing to look like a waffle cone.
Step 12:
Attach your cake centrally on an 11” round iced board with royal icing. Using a pointy tool( I had a pair of tweezers handy) scribe a circular pattern to illustrate rockpools or shells.
Step 13: Step 14: Step 15: Step 16:
Put a sharpened dowel through the centre of the 6” round and secure into the cake with royal icing. Face the good side to the front.
Thin down the yellow royal icing and begin to paint the top tier. Add drips of thinned yellow icing.
Paint some black lines for the summer haze and give more texture to the yellow.

Add a few more irregular spots to represent our Aussie flies and insect life. Tweak and adjust areas of your design until you are happy. Glue a white ribbon around the edge of the silver board. Done! f facebook. com / tastefullyyourscakeart
