How did you get into sugar modelling?
Brenda now travels the globe
sharing her passion of sugar
modelling, while teaching others
how to recreate her signature
sugar figurines.
The first time I ever tried working with
fondant was when I wanted to try my
hand at creating my daughters 1st
birthday cake in 2010. I loved working
with it from the start. About 6 months
after launching Sugar High, Inc™ I
narrowed my focus to only creating
fondant toppers. This was where I
found my love of fondant art.
She’s also joined the Craftsy
family as an instructor, and has
expanded Sugar High Inc to
include a range of backdrops
specifically designed for cake
photography.
What medium do you use for your
modelling?
I’ve always used fondant. I don’t make
my own and I prefer using precoloured
Satin Ice fondant and if I have to mix
colours I use Americolor gel food
colouring.
