The landscapes of Asia and the Pacific are equal parts beauty and challenge. Dense forests, steep mountainsides, and remote valleys can make on-the-ground conservation work difficult. But the conservation value of these natural treasures is undeniable.
From the world’ s tallest mountains to its third-largest tropical rainforest and most diverse coral reefs, the ecoregions of Asia and the Pacific support an astounding diversity of life. Many species are endemic to the region, including two of the world’ s rarest birds, approximately 70 percent of all known marsupials, and the Critically Endangered Saola— also known as the“ Asian Unicorn”— an elusive species of wild ox that was first described by science in 1992.
To protect these irreplaceable landscapes and species, we rely on your generous support of our Conservation Action Fund( CAF).
CAF allows us to rapidly invest in the most urgent conservation projects. Since its launch in 2017, CAF has provided support to more than 250 projects around the world, including 64 in Asia and the Pacific.

Funding from our Conservation Action Fund provides essential support for urgent projects around the world— including the six we highlight in this report.
