Dear Co-workers in the Vineyard, Queridos compañeros
en la Viña del Señor, Kính thưa nhân viên vườn nho,
親愛的主內葡萄園同工,
It is with great joy that we welcome you to the California
Catholic Ministry Conference in this joyful season of
Advent! This year’s Conference is the first for each of
us as the Bishop of Monterey and the Bishop of San
José. And, both of us are excited to join you in the
season of hope.
Our theme this year is Growing in Faith, Living with
Hope. There are many challenges confronting our
world, our nation and our church. And, at times these
challenges may make us feel powerless to change the
course of events. However, for us as Catholics, our faith
empowers us to infuse these challenges with the light of
faith which can bring about profound hope in our times.
This Conference is a time for us to remember the words
of Isaiah, “The people who walked in darkness have
seen a great light; upon those who dwelt in the land of
gloom a light has shone.”
We look forward to seeing you at our 2019 California
Catholic Ministry Conference. We are also grateful
for the collaboration between our own diocesan teams
and, for the collaborative efforts with the offices and
ministries in the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the Dioceses of Oakland
and Stockton.
It is our hope that this year’s Conference will enrich our local churches and each
one of us in this Advent, a joyous season of hope!
¡Con gran alegría les damos la bienvenida a la Conferencia del Ministerio
Católico de California en esta feliz temporada de Adviento! La Conferencia de
este año es la primera para cada uno de nosotros en nuestros puestos de:
Obispo de Monterrey y Obispo de San José. Ambos estamos emocionados de
unirnos a ustedes en la temporada de esperanza.
Nuestro ema este año es Crecer en la Fe, Vivir con Esperanza. Hay muchos
desafíos que enfrenta nuestro mundo, nuestra nación y nuestra iglesia. A veces
estos desafíos pueden hacernos sentir impotentes para cambiar el curso de los
eventos.
Sin embargo, para nosotros como católicos, nuestra fe nos empodera infundir
estos desafíos con luz de fe que puede generar una profunda esperanza en
nuestros tiempos. Esta Conferencia es un momento para que recordemos las
palabras de Isaías: “El pueblo que andaba en tinieblas ha visto gran luz; a los
que habitaban en tierra de sombra de muerte, la luz ha resplandecido sobre
ellos." Esperamos verlos en nuestra Conferencia de Ministerio Católico de
California 2019.
