Roadside tacos, ceviche,
Oaxaca cheese (the original

endless! My preschooler thrilled

watching the owner crack open a
fresh coconut with his machete.
We did a lot of our own cooking;
not surprisingly, locally grown
produce was very cheap. Buy a big

everything in water mixed with a
special produce disinfectant (avail-

Instant rV park famIlIes
You’ll find a real sense of com-
munity in RV parks throughout
Mexico. They’re typically filled with
Canadian snowbirds, with the odd
young family in the mix. If you’re
staying more than a month, you
can’t beat the prices in Rincón de
Guayabitos, a beach town in Riviera
Nayarit. We stayed at a lovely little
park called Delia’s. Most parks offer
Wi-Fi, plus shower and laundry
facilities. We always felt very safe
and most parks feature security
fences that lock at night.
