uniquelY Yukon RoADSiDe ATTRACTionS The yukon is a big place—482,443 square kilometres big. So getting from point A to point B really is half the fun. Driving long stretches of the klondike Highway from Whitehorse to Dawson City, we discover quirky Bun Run About 100 km north of Whitehorse, we stop at Braeburn Lodge, a classic klondike road- house. The eatery is a checkpoint on rest stops like Moose Creek Lodge. The B&B comprises a collection of rustic log cabins, a general store, a restaurant—and some giant “mosquitoes” that put Manitoba’s own to shame! the yukon quest, an annual 1,600-km inter- national sled-dog race. Impressive, but the restaurant’s real claim to fame is cinnamon buns. The ooey-gooey goodies are truly leg- endary.
