In the countryside painted in white by the frost, the birds sing while entrapping the hunter who warms himself in the early sunlight. In the fireplace, the wood crackles in the fire and warms the elderly who are making siesta in company of their cat. We are in the village, where there it is always too hot despite the cold weather and the rain once in a while. This village is Alfaião.

In an earlier interview about the documentary Alfaião you said that the village of Alfaião is itself the protagonist of the documentary. If so, can we look at your short film as a journey into the character's interior where its multiple facets or elements allow the viewer to slowly create a single but complex whole?

Yes, because this film is a contemplative portrait. That is, it is like putting a puzzle together. At the end of the editing/film, all the pieces/scenes create a picture of the village of Alfaião.
