A Tragedy In The Forest
It was the hottest morning in the summer in Velingrad. The Dimitrovs went to the market to buy some
groceries. While walking around, their 9-year-old daughter, Kalina, saw a stall with colorful
lollipops.They caught her eye so she immediately went to see them.Her parents did not notice her
absence. Kalina was staring at the lollipops when one gypsy approached and asked her if she wanted to
buy her a lollipop. She agreed and thanked him. Suddenly Kalina realized that she did not know where
her parents were. The gypsy noticed her worried face and decided to take advantage of the situation.
He suggested helping her to look for her parents together and she agreed. The gypsy took Kalina’s
hand and they headed for the near forest. The little girl was confused because she remembered her
parents being at the market, but when she asked the man, he said that everything was going to be
alright. And that is how the child’s biggest nightmare began. The gypsy took her away from her
parents and led her to the near forest. In the forest there was a car without number plates. Maybe it was
stolen! So he forced her to get in the car. She started being rebellious and tried to scream but the man
pressed his hand on her mouth, pushed her inside and locked the door. Meanwhile her parents were
very stressed because of the girl missing. Grandpa Stefan, who was with them on the vacation,
suspected that something bad may have happened with the girl. He told the parents about his worries
and went out to look for the girl, but the parents decided to call the police. What they didn't know was
that they were too late….. The gypsy had already drugged and raped the girl. Grandpa Stefan found the
locked car in the forest and saw her lying unconscious inside the car. There was no track of the gypsy
man. Stefan immediately took a stone from the ground and broke the window. He took the girl out of
the car. She was very upset and could not say anything. The frightened grandfather embraced his
granddaughter. Meanwhile, the police arrived and started investigating the case. They tried to collect
traces from the crime. By the time the police were investigating, the grandfather had already reached
the hospital. He had phoned her parents and because of that they were waiting impatiently to see their
daughter. Along with them was the doctor who was worried about the girl. She had bruises all over her
body. The gypsy had been dragging her across the woods so her leg was deeply cut.
