Jack: Oh I hate you dad!
Harry: When you finish your studies and you start working, you’ll understand me.
Jack: - You always say the same; you have to study to have a good job in the future... Come on dad,
I’m 12, I’ll have enough time to study, now I want to play with my friends.
Harry: - Son, you must learn to value a little more the things that you have.
Jack: - I do, but I want to have a PlayStation because then I can play with my friends. If I don’t have it,
we won’t have anything in common, and they will ignore me. Do you understand?
Harry: - Yes, I do but it doesn’t change anything.
Jack: - Aaaagghhh!
Harry: - Jack please don’t get angry with me. You know that in a few months there will be another
thing you would want and you’ll forget about the PlayStation. I’m not going to buy you anything if
you don’t really deserve it.
Jack: - I'm not going to ask you for anything else and I deserve it because I study and I help you.
Harry: - Jack, for now, I’m not buying anything. When I can afford it, then we talk.
Jack: - I hate you! - Shouted Jack – Mum would say yes.
There was a big silence in the room. The father was very disappointed to hear those words from his
son.

The next day, everything was very uncomfortable and Harry thought this was the moment to talk to
Jack about something he had been wanting to tell him for days. He was going to tell him a story: his
story.
Harry: - Jack, can I ask you something?
Jack: - What do you want now?
Harry: - Son, can we talk? I want to explain something to you.
Jack: - What is it? I have to study or I won’t deserve things according to you.
Harry: - I'm going to tell you a story that I’ve been wanting to tell you for days and now I think that it
is the perfect moment.
Jack: -A story? What story?
Harry: - Yes. I’m going to tell you the story of one boy that was separated from his father...
There was a boy, a 12 year old boy that lived with his father. They both had worked very hard to have
an acceptable life since the mother had abandoned them. They decided to go abroad to the USA to
leave the past behind and have a new start there.
