ASENATH Where She Was , There Was Home
Mark Twain , in his book , “ Adam and Eve ,” portrays their expulsion from the Garden of Eden . Though cut off from Paradise by the angels ' flaming swords , Adam says , “ Where Eve was , there was Eden .” For a while , in Joseph ' s life , it seemed nothing would ever be right again . No matter how honorably he acted , things seemed to turn out wrong . But then , in exile , far from home , Joseph found comfort in Asenath . Wherever she and her children were , Joseph said , there was home . Now please read Genesis chapters 40 and 41 .
