Falling Again!
R. EsmeRobina
Oh no, I'm falling again……………Stop it……..
I hit a hard surface and I'm covered in darkness. All
lost and scared. How am I supposed to be useful for the Lord
when I keep falling……. Lord please help me…
Yeah, sometimes we fall a thousand times and we feel
that there is no way out. We try our best but still we fail and
then we fall. The lies of the world make us tired and all lost. It
gives us umpteen lures and the passion in us that makes us
fall. We are so caught up in it that we never look around and
we get drowned in our sorrows. We are frustrated, irritated
and angry with ourselves. The fake hopes kindled by the
world make us going in circles and we fall and fall. Shackles
keep us locked in one place and we drown in the darkness.
We fumble again and again and then we slip and slip and then
we fall from the edge.
That's creeping me out…
Well, ain't that the truth?
and pray, God will do unimaginable wonders. Well, praying
for even ten minutes is hard for us. But when we pray more in
truth and in faith, supernatural things will ensue in our lives.
Remember always that God is gonna pick us up again.
No matter how many times, our God will lift us up. That
doesn't mean that we could happily fall again and again and
come back. But we need to seek God's strength in prayer,
meditation and fellowship. The passions of sin which are
ingrained in us should dwindle day by day, otherwise one
day you will be left behind. And believe me, you don't want
to be left behind.
So have you fallen into the trap? I bet it is
claustrophobic down there. Reach out to God, He is the
solid ground on which we stand, He will never leave us. We
are unworthy of such great love, but God has picked us up
from the miry clay and made us His children. So let's praise
him…
“To him who is able to keep you from falling and to
present you before his glorious presence without fault and
with great joy to the only God our Saviourbe glory, majesty,
power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before
all ages, now and for evermore! Amen” (Jude 24, 25).
As always our Heavenly Dad is there for us. This will
be really hard for us to believe when we are totally dejected.
Our faith will falter. We will have hard time trusting that God
can help us still. There would be times when we question our
faith. Yep, I too had a dreadful time when I fell. Our enemy
has various techniques and a knack for making us fall and
then fill our minds with hopelessness. Shipwrecked faith can
lead us astray. Therefore we need to hold on, in all times,
even when we fall. We should never give up. Holding on to
faith will surely bring indescribable outcomes. The moment
we give in, then we will lose hold and we will be lost forever
in the webs of sin. Don't ever give in!
Setbacks ruin us but prayer keeps us resilient. In Gen.
4: 7(b), God says, “…sin is crouching at your door; it desires
to have you, but you must master it.” Ruling over sin is
definitely tough, as it involves mastery over our deep-rooted
sins and passions. But God can do the impossible. Prayer is
the key. Sans it we will never be able to come out of the
passions that hold us prisoners. When we fall on our knees
