in Assamese. Noting my exceptional gifts in the field of literature, I received a special award from 'Asomiya Christo BhaktaSamaj'. All Glory to Him! I still run for God. (Pointing to the rack of books, he asks us to take whatever we want.) Blessing: Can you tell us about your children. I am blessed with a son, Soulwin and a daughter Jemima. Soulwin was named after the Soulwin 73' programme held in the year 1973. Jemima is presently in US. She became the first Missionary kid to complete post graduate professional course in our Mission.(She is a Veterinary Doctor). Blessing: What is your advice to the next generation missionaries and Christian workers? My first advice is to be a prayer warrior. If you cannot wrestle in prayer, you cannot accomplish anything. Next, you should have clarity in your calling. You should always be led by the Spirit of the Lord. If you had quit worldly job, then do not turn back. This is a higher calling. You need to work hard. As we near the close of our interview, he beams and says, Blessing: How is life after retirement? First of all, I do not believe in retirement. I am 78 now and am healthy. I still run for God. Soon after my retirement in the year 2000, I served with ELS (Evangelical Literature Service) in Assam for 3 years. Presently I serve in 'People of the Way' Church along with Pastor David Simpton in Erunkancheri, Chennai. “Bible is my College; Jesus is my Knowledge; Holy Spirit is my Teacher.” Blessing: Thank you Uncle for giving us the privilege to catch glimpses from your life. We believe this interaction will be a blessing to many. Kindly do pray for us and our ministry. We too will pray for you. Thank you once again. The loss of my wife in the year 2004 shook me very much. I had a heart attack 10 days after her demise. But God strengthened me to go on. 37 years of togetherness was really beautiful. www.bymonline.org | March 2020 | Page 14
