April 2019 | www.bymonline.org has been doing through us. It is always too soon to quit. When people criticize us, let us ask God to fill us with Divine wisdom, love and courage. Divine wisdom to understand whether the criticism can build us up; love, to forgive the rash words and hurts that people inflict upon us; and courage, to go on to complete the work that God has given us. page 5 But they all cried out together, “Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas” (Luk 23:18). He was rejected by the leaders “Then the chief priests and the elders of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas, and plotted together in order to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him” (Mat 26:3,4). He was rejected by His own people “They kept shouting, “Crucify, crucify him!” (Luk 23:21). He was rejected by a generation “But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation”(Luk 17:25). And finally He was forsaken by God Himself “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mat 27:46). Hence, let us fight till the end. The more struggle we face, the impact of our ministry will be great. The more people we ministry unto, the more burdensome it becomes. But, let us join with Apostle Paul and shout, “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies”(2 Cor 4:8-10). Yes my beloved. Jesus was rejected in every way. Even God forsook Him because He bore the sins of the world. Jesus forewarned His disciples that the world would reject them. A believer can never expect acceptance from the world. This world will hate us and this is what Jesus also taught us (Jn 7:7, 15:18,19). God has called us out of the world. Let us not lose heart when the world hates us. 5. Jesus Was Rejected In Every Way He was rejected by men “He was despised and rejected by men,” (Isa 53:3) His own people did not receive him “He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him” (Joh 1:11). His earthly family did not believe Him And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, “He is out of his mind.” (Mar 3:21) His good deeds were rejected And they began to beg Jesus to depart from their region (Mar 5:17). His ministry was questioned But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons,” (Luk 11:15). He was chosen over an insurrectionist Let us look to Jesus who faced much hostility from men (Heb 12:1) and run the race with much confidence and courage that one day our labour in Him will be suitably rewarded. Only Jesus can understand us because He has been in our shoes. He knows every kind of rejection. He knows the pain. He is familiar with sufferings. He
