LOCAL SKILLS IMPROVEMENT PLANS
Shaping the Future of Skills Across the Thames Valley
In June, we published the latest Local Skills Improvement Plans( LSIPs) for Berkshire and Oxfordshire, setting out the skills priorities and workforce challenges identified by employers across both counties.
Developed through extensive engagement with businesses, education providers and local partners, the plans provide a clear roadmap for creating a skills system that responds to the changing needs of the Thames Valley economy. They highlight priorities ranging from digital transformation and AI to technical skills, recruitment challenges, Net Zero and strengthening pathways into employment.
Publication of the plans marks the next stage of our LSIP work. Through our Workforce Development Partnerships, we will continue bringing employers and education providers together to turn these priorities into practical action, helping to ensure local skills provision reflects what businesses need now and in the future.
With the latest LSIPs approved by the Secretary of State, our focus is now firmly on delivery and maintaining the strong employer voice that has shaped the plans.
