The seven artists who comprise the prosaically-named Art 7 group, and have an eponymous exhibition in King Street Gallery this month, defy this somewhat. Raymond Church, who founded the group, specialises in pottery influenced by both classical Greek design and modern social issues – a vase featuring both a ‘hoodie’ and a gallant swordsman, that kind of thing. Also featured are the metal cast sculptures of Lee Odishow; Owen Evans’ ceramics influenced by quantum physics; and sculpture and paintings respectively courtesy of Jonathan and Melissa Cox, a married couple. son, is a graffiti/stenceil artist who also goes by the name Pure Evil.
