BANFF MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL Film fanatics, adrenaline junkies, and outdoors lovers, your attention please. The BANFF Mountain Film Festival World Tour returns to the UK this month for a fifth year running, and will be celebrating the best of outdoor film with three dates in South Wales. Named after the November festival which was originally cultivated in Banff, Canada in 1975, the ensuing World Tour visits approximately 35 countries over 300 dates, and showcases a range of independent films focusing on the environment, mountain culture and outdoor life. The BANFF programme has something for all, featuring eye-opening and inspirational films from a range of backgrounds, locations and makers. One minute you’re captivated with awe as you watch kayakers float down the stunning blue water of Agua Azul in Southern Mexico; the next, your heart pumps as you’re taken into the world of Wingsuit World Champion Espen Fadnes, as he steps off cliffs with you on board, courtesy of his helmet camera. The UK leg of the festival’s tour makes its way down to South Wales for a three-date stop-off. Starting at Porthcawl’s Grand Pavilion on Thurs 27 Mar, the festival visits Y Ffwrnes in Llanelli the following evening before heading to the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven on Tue 8 Apr.
